Why is Nagpur called the Zero mile centre ?

The zero mile stone landmark denotes the geographical centre of India in Nagpur .Nagpur,a town of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra lies at the centre of India with the zero mile marker located here .
It is the head quarter of RSS,also the location of Dalit budhist movement .according to nagpur pact the winter session of Vidhan sabha commences here .It is the second capital of Maharashtra.
The' Nag' river flows in a serpentine (sinusoidal )path and so is named Nagpur .The suffix 'pur 'as usual means town /city .people belong to the Nag dynasty and so is the river and city named Nagpur .(source :Dr.B.R.Ambedkar ).
It is the second greenest city in India after chandigarh and is famous for oranges .It is a city in India on the deccan plateau.
